I've had the pleasure of being a resident of Brookstone "from the beginning" ... and I think I've been in almost every floorplan! Brookstone was developed by Ashton Woods, and Goodman Homes/Westminster Homes (now all under the KHov Family of builders) in four phases. Phases I and IV are rear entry while Phases II and III offer front garage options. Something for everyone! Plus local pool, park and schools!

Speaking of schools, the subdivision is the eastern most point of McKinney that is in the Frisco ISD. All residents are walking distance to exemplary rated Elliott Elementary which also has the distinction of being a Title 1 school, offering even greater assistance to the successful experience of students and the promise of every child. I'm literally on child #3 walking the halls of this school and we could not ask for a better experience!

Elliott is also surrounded by a jogging/bike path that can be taken to the city path leading safely to Gabe Nesbitt Park, the new Aquatic Center and the Gay Library which offers more fun, adventures and study support at your finger tips. Brookstone is the total package!
  • One of the great things about the Brookstone Subdivision is that you have two elementary schools within a mile of the subdivision, one of them is basically within the property. It is interesting to me that in Brookstone, your address is McKinney, but the schools are the Frisco ISD.

Edriss Elliot School opened in 2008. When I first moved to Texas, my boys attended this elementary school for their first 1.5 years of school down here. They loved it! The communication from the teachers was fantastic, and for them it was a 5 minute walk from our home in Brookstone. A portion of the Brookstone subdivision actually wraps around the school, which has a large field, playground and a splash pad for summer time!

The Joyce Kelly Comstock Elementary was built in 2012 and is less than 3/4 mile from Brookstone. My boys went to Comstock for 4th and 5th grades. They may have enjoyed it even more, partially to their mother working in the cafeteria! It is also a great school that had "Two Teacher Teams" with had connected classrooms and split up the classes. Once again, they had fantastic communication through email, texts and in-school events to interact.

Moving from Michigan when we did in 2013, I am so glad that my boys have gotten to attend these two Frisco ISD elementary schools. We have nothing but good things to say.
  • I had the pleasure of living in the Brookstone subdivision my first 1.5 years in Texas. We loved it and wish we could have bought a home there in our price range at the time. We ended up moving a whole 1 mile away into Harvest Bend.

Brookstone is a very nice community with a variety of home sizes ranging from 3 bedroom up to 5+ bedrooms. The Home Owners Association (HOA) has a nice swimming pool, "kiddy pool", playgrounds, and large open area for playing ball, flying kites, and more. The HOA has several events a year, especially during the swimming season with "Dive-In Movie Night" or a cookout near the pool to enjoy. They do try to have family events during the holidays including an Easter Egg Hunt and Santa visits, to name a few. The swimming pool is gated and you must have a key card to enter, so it has a nice private feel to it.

The location of Brookstone subdivision is very appealing. You are near Eldorado which has Braums, What a Burger, Taco Bell, and a variety of other fast food. In addition, there is a Market Street grocery store, and Kroger all within a few miles. Going the other way out of Brookstone to McKinney Ranch Parkway, you have only a short drive to the Super Walmart for all your shopping needs. So, it feels like a rather "quiet" neighborhood without a lot of outside traffic or noisy roads, but still very close to all your shopping needs.
