This area is surrounded by the golf course on the west and south. Renner Road is on the north and close to major shopping at Renner and Custer Roads. Canyon Creek Country Club has membership for golf, tennis and social memberships. View their website.

There are many styles and sizes of homes in the area from $300 to one million. There is a Plano area elementary school on the north part of the area.

George Bush Tollway is on the north and Hwy #75 on the east, and University of Texas at Richardson on the southwest. This is a great area for everyone with major employers and hotels all around.

Many of my clients love Canyon Creek for a lot of different reasons. First the schools are either zoned for Plano or Richardson ISD's, both highly rated. This has been a huge factor in why families are moving to this area. Others love the location, bounded on the north by Renner Road, south by Campbell Road, west by Floyd, and east by Collins.

This neighborhood is next door to University of Texas at Dallas, has very close access to highway 75 and the Telecom Corridor. If you are not from this area, corporations like Texas Instruments, AT&T, and Alcatel-Lucent make up Richardson's Telecom Corridor. This accounts for over 130,000 nearby jobs.

Canyon Creek has a golf course and private country club which is exclusive, a very good course, I hear. Membership does not come with the homes here, but many people moving here want to take advantage of the golf, swimming, and tennis courts. A membership to the country club will get all of that for them.

There is a really cute dining and shopping area on Custer Road in Canyon Creek. There you will find families at the Sweet Firefly ice cream shop. Teens and adults alike enjoy the Pearl Cup, a local coffee shop which is nothing like Starbuck's, if you are wondering.

My most recent clients purchased in Canyon Creek because of the lot sizes. They were moving from a newer subdivision and wanted more room for their kids to spread out. The possible downside to Canyon Creek is the age of some of the homes. They were originally built in the 1960's. Many of the homes have been remodeled extensively but there are still some originals to be found if you are wanting a project. If you are looking for move in ready, you can find gorgeously appointed homes that have been remodeled or purchase a tear down home which are becoming more and more frequent in this much sought after neighborhood. Prices range from low $200,000's for a smaller original condition home to tear downs over $1,000,000.

I grew up in the Canyon Creek area of Richardson. In the 1970's, this area of Richardson grew into one of the most desired areas in the Metroplex. In the 1980's the area again expanded when Richardson and that area became the Telecom Corridor. Beginning in the late 2000's, some of the houses in the area are being leveled in favor of much larger homes because of the area and its desirability.

There's still a bunch of fantastic, well cared for original homes in the neighborhood, but if you're looking for something brand-new and very luxurious you can buy in this area too. There is a little bit here for most any upscale buyer looking for fantastic schools and a great neighborhood.
