Fourth of July Wylie Jubilee Bluegrass on Ballard will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 10:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Come visit Historic Downtown Wylie for your free Fourth of July festivities! I have gone to this event several times and always enjoy it, especially the food, music and shopping !! It is that small town feel I love about Wylie, when they shut down the downtown area and put on a festival for the whole family to enjoy! Some of the activities include: a Car Show, Chili Cook Off,
arts and crafts, food, live music, pony rides, and Bounce Houses. For more information visit www.discoverwylie.com

I have lived in Wylie since 1996 when it had one stop sign! If you wanted a new construction home, the choices were slim! Well, not anymore, Wylie has made the map in Collin County with new construction homes. Here are some of the new home builders building in Wylie today: Altura Homes, DR Horton, Gehan, Bloomfield, Grand Homes, Plantation Homes, Highland Homes, Meritage, Horizon Homes, Windsor, Megatel, Express, Reflection, Grenadier, Shaddock Homes, and Mercury Homes.

Features in these homes are off the charts! Luxury master retreats, outdoor living areas, beamed ceilings, beautiful elevations, green built for low energy, fabulous HOA communities with many amenities and more! Prices range from $270's to $600's. If you are shopping in Collin County for a new home, put Wylie on your list!

Downtown Wylie is a place you want to visit often. It's tucked away in Wylie on Ballard Street; off of State Hwy. 78, and the area offers good old-fashioned comfort food, a wonderful cake bakery, rustic furniture for sale, and many other fun little shops to enjoy. The city of Wylie is a growing community with affordable housing and still a taste of country living. We enjoy the charm of the downtown area with its many events such as the Arts Festival, Parade and Tree Lighting, Bluegrass on Ballard, and even a Pedal Car Race!

The reason to love Wylie, Texas? It is a top small city to live in the U.S.! This North Texas community boasts access to two lakes, affordable homes and top-rated schools. These are all cited as reasons why it's the top small city in America for families, according to an analysis by NerdWallet.

Wylie is about 30 miles northeast of Dallas and 12 miles east of Plano. It is between Lake Lavon and Lake Ray Hubbard, which means it offers easy access to outdoor activities for families. The city of 44,000 residents has the second-most affordable homes in the top 10 cities in the U.S.A! Wow! The median home values were $154,600 in 2014 and $263,000 in August of 2016! Schools earned a rating of 9 out of 10 by reviewers at GreatSchools.org.

The facts are great, but I can tell you, from a more personal perspective, how great Wylie is because I have lived in Wylie since 1994! We have two great schools and our cry is AHMO!! I raised all my kids in Wylie awesome schools and we really enjoy not having to drive to Plano for movies and shopping anymore. We have watched our "one stop sign" town flourish and honestly still love Wylie, the city between two lakes!
