Sometimes we forget what great things there are to do right in our own backyard. If you are looking for some fun, and don’t want to drive too far check out some of these museums.
Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary – If you love nature, and wildlife then a visit to the Heard Museum is a must.
– Get out and learn about the history and culture of our area. Check out the Collin County History Museum located right in Historic Downtown McKinney.
Heritage Village at Chestnut Square – Step back in time and check out what life was like in McKinney in the 1800’s to early 1900’s. The tour of Chestnut Square’s homes, one room school house, chapel, blacksmith shop and smoke house is so fascinating I believe you will enjoy this one. They also have a farmer’s market on weekends.
National Video Game Museum – Located in Frisco The National Video Game Museum is a must for the gamers in the family. It’s a great place to learn about the history of video games.
Frisco Heritage Museum - Frisco Heritage Center, a historical park where you can visit the Frisco Heritage Museum, historic buildings, a steam locomotive, a wooden caboose, and more.
Museum of the American Railroad – This is a great trip for the train enthusiasts in the family.
