Plano Area Insight

  • My family loves living in Plano and it is an amazing place to live. This community offers an excellent quality of life to raise a family. This friendly and recreation oriented city is an attractive place for business as well. It is also called the City of Excellence and hosts the headquarters of many international corporations and companies such as J.C. Penney, Frito Lay, Dr. Pepper, Pizza Hut, and Capital One. These and other businesses are taking the city to a sustainable economic growth. Plano‚Äôs prosperous reputation is increasing day by day as Boeing Global Service headquarters will also move and start it operations in July 2017.

As a resident of Plano, I could say that this city is the best option to those who are raising a family or those people who want to retire. It offers a lot of options if you want to shop around and there are lots of really good restaurants that you can explore. There are also museums and a public library open to all. Kids would enjoy places like Kid Mania, Jump street or CooCoos. Plano also has a list of the best schools/universities, churches, art center and other activities that the whole family would surely enjoy. Cost of living might be a little higher compared to other cities in Texas, but I assure you, it is all worth it.

I have lived in Plano for about eight years now. In that time, I have thoroughly enjoyed living here. Plano is Dallas' neighbor to the north. Central Plano is between Dallas North Tollway and Highway 75, north of the George Bush Tollway. Plano is now known for being the headquarters of major corporations. Many of these are located in the Legacy Corridor such as DNT and Legacy Drive. New ones are coming to the Legacy West area that is being built out now.

Plano is known for its great schools and affluent, family neighborhoods. While you can find a home in Plano in the low $200's, the average price range in Plano is higher. Where to move in Plano is harder as there are so many areas in which to consider. If you are looking to commute to Dallas proper you may want to consider a home in South Plano or near the highway and tollways. If commute is not your primary concern, then you may also want to consider the great schools and many parks, shopping and nightlife as factors of your neighborhood. Wherever you decide to end up, I think you will be very happy with the diversity of life in our suburb!
