So many fun things to do...what do I do first? You may think Rockwall County is too far to drive if you live In the mid-to-western part of the DFW Metroplex. Think about it like this - how far would you drive for fun? My family drove to Branson, Missouri last year!

This year we are choosing a "stay-cation" because Rockwall County has so much to offer. You might think "What is it about Rockwall that is so special?". Well, in my opinion it is two things: friendly folks and Lake Ray Hubbard. Let me just name a few things in no particular order. We can watch the sunset, sailing, fishing, skiing, parasailing, enjoy the boardwalk to the lighthouse at the Harbor, dining, movies, escape room, play some pool, darts, sports bars, enjoy lakeview patios, theater, School of Rock, Shenanigans, Chuck E. Cheese, shopping galore, trendy shops & farmers market downtown, horse rescue and riding, cycling, Harry Myers Park (a local favorite) and more!

Rowlett is right next door to Lake Ray Hubbard which adds to the fun and excitement. Also, the Crystal Lagoons projected completion date is 2019-2020, in which Rowlett will never be the same. Rockwell County just keeps getting bigger better!

If you are a music lover then Rockwall is the place for you! In addition, there are many restaurants that host live music including: Southern Junction, Three Sheets, Nineteen at Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club, Culpepper's, Dodies, Bookclub Cafe and The Londoner Pub. My favorite live music venue is "Concert By the Lake" at the Harbor! It is every Thursday from May 4-July 27, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. You can bring a chair or blanket and sit on the grassy areas along the water, or as many do, ride your boat over and listen to live music from the water!
